Can She Do It?!

It was dark outside, which was normal when the time was a bit past midnight. The moon was out and was full so the light as well as the dark parts of the moon could easily be seen. A lone female figure was sitting in a chair behind a wide desk, her legs curled under herself with one hand holding a cup filled with sake and the other held a slice of rum cake. Before her on the desk was a folder of sorts that contained valuable information on how one was to learn and achieve mastery over a technique called Shunko. The female was Megumi Emerarudo, Captain of the Kido Corps. As she was finishing up her meal of sorts, her eyes scanned the papers quickly. She was going to learn and master this technique before the first rays of sunlight appear which gave her at most six hours. Once she finished reading, a wide smile spread out on her lips and she moved to get up. Once she stood up, she closed the folder and placed it within a drawer of her desk…it was time for her to put her knowledge and skills to the test. She left her Captain’s Haori on the back of her chair as she used shunpo to leave her office that was deep inside the barracks that belonged solely to the Kido Corps. She was making her way to her favorite training area, one that she kept hidden from everyone else so as she could practice all she wants without the fear of hurting an innocent passerby. Once she arrived at her personal training area, she took a good look around to make sure that there were no signs that others knew of it’s existence. It was high above the rest of Soul Society, this was also one of the places she has kept a part of the secret stash of her alcohol. The surrounding area was filled with boulders, trees that were tall and thick, and as an added bonus it was where most Hollows would appear if they ever entered Soul Society. “Perfect…this will do nicely.” She said with a smile to herself as she moved to sit down on a flat rock and placed her zanpakuto across her lap. She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath as she started to go inside of her mind, she was going to try and train with the spirit of her zanpakuto…Magureatari.

When she opened her eyes, she found herself in the inner world. It had the appearance of the inside of a very fancy and full casino. There are slot machines, poker tables, blackjack tables, roulette tables, and other games you will find within a casino. The sounds of the slot machine’s arms being pulled down, the beeps as the wheels in the slot machines move, the sound of money jingling and being put into the machines, and the rare occurrence of a bell ringing which signaled a jackpot can be heard. The lights are dimmed to give a comforting warm feeling. The smile she had on her face widened as she easily found Magureatari, who was waiting for her beside a table that was currently in the midst of playing blackjack. “Well, well. Time for us to bond and play again and so soon?” Magureatari asked with a mischievous smirk as she led Megumi outside of the room of the casino they were in to a more open and spacious area, a ballroom of sorts. “Yes, but this time we’ll try mixing my two top abilities together into one technique.” Megumi said as she puts her blade to the side and away from her. Magureatari just watched her and nodded as she got into a defensive position that was mainly used for hand-to-hand combat styled fights. She knew what Megumi planned on training and she was more then willing to help out. “This will be more fun then when you earned your way to use my Bankai.” Magureatari commented with a laugh as she waited for Megumi to make the first move.

Megumi let out a laugh as she used shunpo to come right at Magureatari. She was going to tire herself out so that she could push and push to get stronger in order to even be able to get a grasp on doing the Shunko. She started out by sending quick jabs rapidly one after the other at Magureatari, who countered her jabs with her own. Magureatari then smiled and suddenly sent a kick to Megumi’s side, raising the bar already so early in their training. She was always one who liked to push Megumi until she would break to pieces. Megumi waited until the last moment before she turned her lower body just enough that she captured Magureatari’s leg in-between her thighs. Megumi sent her a smirk before she placed her palm in the middle of Magureatari’s chest, right over the spade tattoo, and a widening tornado-like blast is fired as she unlocked her thigh’s hold on Magureatari’s trapped leg. Magureatari went flying, but quickly regained her footing in mid-air before she laughed. “Oh ho ho! Using Tenran so early in the game? Fine then!” Magureatari said as she came back at Megumi. She was more serious and her blows were faster and more powerful then before, she wasn’t playing around anymore. “Bring it on, Magureatari! I’ll show you why I’m your wielder…again!” Megumi said as she smirked and matched her zanpakuto’s power and speed behind her own attacks. This went on for a couple of hours at best, all these punches and kicks at each other. Both females were getting tired and each had marks on their bodies from where they have been struck while they literally tried to beat each other up. As Megumi, panted and sweating some from the workout, looked up at Magureatari she smiled knowingly. It was time for the two of them to try and best each other by using kido.

Magureatari smiled back knowingly and moved away from Megumi as she fires a gigantic electricity blast of spiritual energy that was known for resulting in a truly enormous explosion right at her. Megumi gasped as she used shunpo to get out of the way in the nick of time, firing off two shots of blue fire from both palms right at Magureatari. Magureatari smirked as she used Danku to block the attacks that Megumi had sent her way. “Heh…not bad Magureatari, not bad at all.” Megumi said before she used shunpo again to get around the barrier and behind Magureatari. But before Megumi could use another kido spell on Magureatari, the other female just smirked before she started to whisper something under her breath that Megumi barely heard. Magureatari has brought Megumi into her trap. “First Song: Halting Fabric. Second Song: Hundred Linked Bolts. Final Song: Great Seal of 10,000 Forbiddings…BANKIN!” Magureatari said, yelling out the last word as the spell covers Megumi from head to toe with spiritual fabric, stabs her with numerous metal bolts, and then smashes her with an immense metal cube. Megumi gasped and started to struggle as this was going to be the best moment to put what she has read to the test. As she looked up in time to watch the immense metal cube start to come down on her, she yelled out “SHUNKO!” with all her might.

Once Megumi yelled out Shunko to use it’s ability, she felt an immense surge of energy all of a sudden run throughout her body. She felt a warm, almost feverish, throughout her body as she felt and heard the top of her outfit become ruined. The sleeves and the whole backside of her top looked as if it was blasted off of her body. Magureatari gasped and shunpoed as fast as she could, but was sent flying back by the immense strength that came with using Shunko. Right when the immense metal cube was about to touch her, Megumi broke the metal bolts off of her body and sent an uppercut punch with her left fist to the cube above her. This caused the whole thing to shatter and she was breathing heavily as she looked down at her hands. “Oh…my…God…” Megumi said with fascination, as she couldn’t believe it. She actually just did Shunko! But Megumi didn’t have enough time to soak it all in before Magureatari came at her from behind and out of nowhere. Megumi turned and with her hands pointed at Magureatari, she shot off high-pressured Kido point-blank, with no thought into how it happened. Magureatari couldn’t move in time and was hit, flying back and into a wall. Even though she was beat up pretty badly, she smiled widely at Megumi and gave her a V for Victory sign. “Congrats, Megumi…you did it and just in time too!” The other female said with pride, before she fell forward and was knocked out. Megumi closed her eyes and reopened them to reveal that she was now in Soul Society and no longer within her Inner World. The first thing she saw was the darkened Soul Society below her before the sun started to rise. “I did it!” Megumi whispered to herself happily yet in a tired tone before she sighed in relief. The next moment, she fell back onto her back and was out cold before her head hit the ground.
